Situation

Bosch's R&D team used OneSource, an Excel-based internal database for tracking diesel injector problems across global factories. The tool was slow, produced incorrect results, and couldn't scale with growing data needs.

Task

Redesign the OneSource system from scratch to improve performance, ensure data accuracy, and enable modern analytics capabilities within a 3-month timeline.

Actions

• Conducted Q&A sessions with the team to understand pain points and use cases
• Performed feasibility study and decided to rebuild the UI and database architecture
• Designed new interface with fuzzy logic for accurate data entry
• Migrated data layer from legacy Excel to Apache Parquet format
